Motherland Productions’ Documentary Bigger Than Africa Acquired for National PBS & WORLD Channel Broadcast
Los Angeles, CA — Motherland Productions announced that, following a successful three-year run on Netflix, its documentary Bigger Than Africa has been acquired for national broadcast on PBS and the WORLD Channel, distributed by American Public Television (APT).
The program will air across PBS member stations throughout the United States and Canada.
Following a nationwide programmer vote, the film received approval from 232 PBS stations, representing more than 81% of U.S. market coverage, including 23 of the top 25 media markets.
Bigger Than Africa explores the survival and global influence of Yoruba culture from West Africa to the Americas, illuminating how identity, spirituality, and tradition endured the transatlantic slave trade and remain vibrant today.
